Terms and Conditions For Use of the Church Facilities

A person or group wishing to use facilities at the Day’s Ferry Congregational Church must reserve the date though the Church’s Clerk. This applies to services such as weddings and funerals held in the sanctuary and to events such as parties or meetings using Johnson Hall, the kitchen, and classrooms. The Church Clerk, Sally Davis, may be contacted by phone (207-443-6439) or by email.

Use of the sanctuary:
The Pastor of the Day’s Ferry Congregational Church presides at all services taking place in the sanctuary or church grounds, unless the Pastor is unavailable. Guest clergy may participate in a service at the invitation and direction of the Church’s Pastor.

The Music Director of the Day’s Ferry Congregational Church provides music at all services taking place in the sanctuary or church grounds, unless the Music Director is unavailable. Guest musicians may participate in a service at the invitation and direction of the Church’s Music Director.

Persons or groups using the sanctuary must leave it in a clean and orderly state. Personal effects and decorations must be removed, altar candles extinguished, lights turned off, and all doors and windows closed.

No alcohol, non-prescription drugs, or tobacco products may be used on the Day’s Ferry Congregational Church grounds.

If children are present, appropriate supervision must be provided by the person or group reserving the Day’s Ferry Congregational Church’s facilities.

Cars may not block the entrance to the Church or disrupt traffic on Old Stage Road.

Use of rooms other than the sanctuary:
Only the rooms reserved may be used. All rooms reserved must be left in a clean and orderly state immediately following the event. With the exception of the sanctuary altar, no open flames, including candles, are permitted.

Special care should be taken to make sure the kitchen is clean and free of unused food or beverages. The stove, coffee makers, and lights must be turned off, and all doors and windows closed and locked.

The contact person reserving the Day’s Ferry Congregational Church space is responsible for making sure the terms and conditions listed above are met.

These terms and conditions apply to all persons or groups using the Church facilities.
